Masks are used to identify people, religion and spirits among West African tribes. The invisibility of these spirits are represented by their masks. This i fisher's mask shaped in the form of a boat and padle is for a fishing festival.

The valiant farmer. "Agbe r'oko b'odun de". The little hut at the farm provides a shelter for relaxation. As he rests, the yam and the "okere" (wild game) are roasting on the wood fire on one side. While the undiluted fresh palm wine convulses in the calabash on the other.

The Durbar's interesting history has linked together pre-colonial forms of martial display to the post-colonial celebration of important events in the emirates of northern Nigeria. The Dogorai arethe Emirs' bodyguards with their special uniforms of scarlet and green, the Emir's special colors.

The rich are friend's to the rich and the poor to the poor. The rich gets richer and the poor poorer. I have nobody to comfort me body and soul. I paddle my own canoe alone. The trouble for the day is enough for the day. I do not know what tomorrow holds for me without a silver spoon.
